Two House Transportation Committee Democrats say the Trump administration should share its findings on the recent forced removal of a United Airlines passenger.
“If news reports are accurate, the treatment of this passenger by United Airlines is not only outrageous, but is unacceptable,” the Tuesday letter to Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, signed by ranking Transportation Committee member Rep. Videos emerged late Sunday of police officers forcibly removing a man from his seat and dragging the passenger down the aisle by his wrists.
“We understand that the Department of Transportation (DOT) is looking into the incident, and would like to know what DOT finds, including whether Federal law or regulations were violated during the April 9 incident aboard Flight 3411, as well as whether United Airlines’ contract of carriage or overbooking policy meets all applicable federal standards,” the letter continues.

United Airlines said the man was removed after refusing to leave when asked to give up his seat on an overbooked flight.
The Chicago-to-Louisville flight reportedly had four passengers too many, leaving a manager to randomly select people to give up their seat.
White House press secretary Sean Spicer on Tuesday called footage of the incident “troubling.”
“I don’t think anyone looks at that video and isn’t disturbed that a man was treated that way,” he said.
