White House chief of staff Reince Priebus arranged a recent meeting to soothe tensions between White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon and senior adviser Jared Kushner, according to a new report.
The meeting took place at President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., last week amid reports of tension between administration officials, CBS News said Saturday.
Bannon and Kushner have purportedly clashed over policy differences, with both Bannon and conservative media allied with him criticizing Kushner’s more moderate positions.
“Reince had the two sit down with him to clear the air and agree on the agenda and ending the back and forth,” a White House official told CBS News.

Trump reportedly told Bannon and Kushner to “work this out” amid recurring disagreements between the pair before last week’s discussion.
Kushner, who is Trump’s son-in-law, has allegedly voiced concern about Bannon’s influence over the president and his provocative style.
The pair met amid reports Friday that each side have accused the other of planting negative stories about them in the media.
Reports emerged Saturday that Priebus’s job is safe amid speculation he and Bannon may be at risk of getting reshuffled in a potential staff shakeup.
Priebus is reportedly “with the program” of a more cooperative and inclusive White House, but Bannon may get forced out if he cannot adopt a more flexible approach.
Bannon served as chief executive of Trump’s presidential campaign after leaving his former role as executive chairman of the conservative Breitbart News last year.
Trump removed Bannon from the National Security Council last week, in what was seen as a sign of national security adviser H.R. McMaster’s growing clout.
