President Trump on Tuesday morning backed the GOP candidate in Kansas’s special House election as voters headed to the polls in a tighter-than-expected race.
“Ron Estes is running TODAY for Congress in the Great State of Kansas. A wonderful guy, I need his help on Healthcare & Tax Cuts (Reform),” Trump wrote on Twitter.

Kansas state Treasurer Ron Estes is running against Democrat Jim Thompson to fill now-CIA Director Mike Pompeo’s vacant House seat in Kansas’s 4th District.
Trump won the district in November by nearly 30 points, but the race has grown unexpectedly tight for Republicans.
